Castle Hiking Trail and Jakkalskloof 4x4 trail is a joint venture between Marinda Pretorius and Izak Kotze, respectively. Situated as adjoining farms, and both having a strong eco-tourism focus, a synergy was inevitable, allowing the owners to bring you this special little window into some of Africa’s most unique beauty and views.

“Jakkalskloof” has been in the Kotze family for over 160 years. The ownership can be traced as far back as 1841 and was the first “Cart and Transport” title deed issued in the area..

The “Hartbeeshuisie’ (Farm House) is being renovated to its former original glory and will capture the ambiance and lifestyle of that historical time.

The old stables and “wagon house” were converted into a “castle house” nearly 50 years ago, and is a “must see”.
